BCRRA 2026 Zenodo: Book of Extended Abstracts Now Available Open Access

The Book of Extended Abstracts from the 12th International Conference on Bearing Capacity of Roads, Railways and Airfields (BCRRA 2026), held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from June 22 to 24, is now available through the Zenodo scientific repository. This publication brings together 55 scientific contributions related to transport infrastructure research and development.

BCRRA is an international forum for scientific and technical exchange in the field of transport infrastructure engineering. Its programme addresses topics related to the structural behaviour of pavements, bearing capacity assessment, new materials, sustainability, maintenance, and the application of advanced technologies to roads, railways and airfields.

Publication of the Conference’s Book of Extended Abstracts

The Zenodo scientific repository provides open access to the BCRRA 2026 Book of Extended Abstracts, which brings together 55 contributions and facilitates knowledge dissemination among researchers, public authorities and industry professionals.

This collection provides access to research and methodological advances related to the design, assessment and performance of transport infrastructure.

The topics covered include the development of more efficient and sustainable pavements, material behaviour, structural assessment techniques, infrastructure maintenance, and the application of new technologies to improve infrastructure durability and performance.

The publication of these contributions helps promote the exchange of experience and knowledge among specialists from different countries, reinforcing BCRRA’s role as an international meeting point for applied research in transport infrastructure.

RAUROS’ Scientific Participation in BCRRA 2026

At this edition, RAUROS also contributed to the conference’s scientific programme with the paper “Updating perpetual pavement design criteria: from legacy practices to strain ratio-based methodologies”, authored by F. Damián Suárez Mendo, J. Antonio Ramos García and Fernando Varela Soto, and published in Elsevier’s Transportation Research Procedia.

The research examines the evolution of perpetual pavement design criteria, analysing the limitations of certain traditional methodologies and the introduction of mechanistic-empirical approaches based on strain ratios.

The study reflects RAUROS’ active involvement in international engineering research and highlights the importance of translating scientific advances into practical pavement engineering solutions.

Applied Research for Infrastructure Development

The dissemination of the BCRRA 2026 papers highlights the importance of scientific research and knowledge transfer in addressing today’s challenges in pavement engineering.

Making these contributions available through open-access scientific repositories facilitates access to and dissemination of technical advances, promoting collaboration among researchers, public authorities and specialised companies.

RAUROS’ involvement in international technical conferences and scientific publications provides opportunities to share engineering expertise, critically assess methodologies, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for infrastructure design, assessment, and maintenance.

This activity reflects the company’s commitment to innovation, technical excellence and the development of engineering solutions grounded in scientific knowledge.

Open Access and Scientific Knowledge Dissemination

The publication of the BCRRA 2026 Book of Extended Abstracts on Zenodo facilitates access to the scientific content presented during the conference, making it available to engineering professionals, researchers and infrastructure managers.

This dissemination model helps extend the international reach of the contributions and encourages the exchange of technical knowledge related to pavement performance and maintenance.

For specialised companies such as RAUROS, access to this type of research provides an opportunity to explore new methodologies, compare technical approaches and continue advancing the application of scientific knowledge to transport infrastructure engineering.
